Primark goes larges with second Seville store
Spain is hardly new territory for Primark, so the arrival of a second store in the Andalusian capital is perhaps not the biggest news. That said, the new store, in the Lagoh shopping centre, on the outskirts of the city is interesting both for its pop-up style café and for a pretty winsome Beauty Studio, which takes some of its cues from the Birmingham flagship.
The store itself is in fact a pretty standard two-floor outpost for the fashion retailer, trading from around 7,000 sq m and like the Birmingham store, this is a low-cost fashion store where experience, as much as price, is the watchword.
The Beauty Studio is in a semi-discrete shop-in-shop in the store and features rows of pink swivel seats at nail bars. Treatments on offer are displayed on lightboxes around the faux-brick perimeter wall of the space. As it says at the entrance to the Beauty Studio, what is on view is the outcome of a collaboration with Lashes & Go.
Primark’s presence in the southern city kicked off in September 2018 in the central Torre Sevilla shopping centre. The new store is one of the retailer’s largest stores in the country (the multi-floor Gran Via behemoth in Madrid has a 12,500 sq m selling area).
The store opened at the end of last month.
