Travel Retail Conference – 5^ Edition

On 21th of September 2017, the fifth edition of Travel Retail Conference took place for the first time at the Conference Room “Linate Center”, inside the Milan Linate Airport.

Travel Retail sector is growing constantly still today. For this reason, retailers must renovate and rethink their offer on the customer new habits, connecting travel and experience.

Luigi Battuello, Commercial Director Non Aviation of SEA, opened the conference offering an overview of the company’s retail expertise applied to the airport industry, with a particular focus on Malpensa Airport.

Gianni Saccani, Head of Leasing of Grandi Stazioni Retail, explained their unique realty in Italy characterized by exclusive locations, constant flows of visitors, a great visibility and an incisive communication.

Instead, Umberto Montano, President of Mercato Centrale, described the most successful format elements and events organized inside Rome and Florence stores.

Luigi Fusco, Chief Operating Officer of Unieuro, illustrated how and why the company is changing its store locations to meet the traveller needs.

In the end, Fabrizio Brogi, President of NAU!, talked about the main locations in Italy and their fast development thanks to a high performances and visibility.

The event was an unique occasion to understand the trends and the evolution of the commercial offer. Indeed, Travel Retail sector is characterized on one side from airports and stations oriented to satisfy the needs of clients still in evolution; on the other side from specific business strategies applied to the sector.
