Dover Street Market opens in Beijing
Dover Street Market has unveiled a brand new store in
Beijing just in time to benefit from the shopping boom around Chinese New Year.
This is China’s first Dover Street Market store and is located in a building previously occupied by IT Beijing Market – a fashion emporium created by Comme des Garcons and Bape.
The launched was teased by the brand as it opened a dedicated Instagram page for Beijing last week. Dover Street Market shared several photos of the new shop after its launch on 3 February.
Following the brand’s usual approach to retailing, the new store features several colourful installations and artistic touches.
There is a Comme des Garcons installation with all new SS18 pieces, and Gosha Rubchinskiy’s SS18 collection is featured on the fourth floor against vibrant graffiti walls. Other creative details include a black Kewpie sculpture, a grey elephant installation and an exhibition space.
The store carries designs from some of the world’s most coveted brands including Gucci, JW Anderson, Rick Owens, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Vetements, Celine and Anya Hindmarch.
The original Dover Street Market is located in London, and there are further DSM stores in Ginza, New York and Singapore.
