E-commerce platform Shopify has opened a networking hub in Manhattan to support existing and budding entrepreneurs, named Shopify New York.

THE DETAILS Located at 131 Greene Street, the space covers two stories and 8,000 square foot, and will feature a rotating pop-up shops of New York-based brands.

Free to visit, there is also a coffee and snack shop, as well as work stations, a photo studio and a podcast studio. Visitors can book 30 minute slots to meet with Shopify ‘gurus’ who will help aspiring entrepreneurs launch onto the e-commerce site, as well as tackle other ‘business challenges.’

Open six days a week, the space also hosts events and speakers, with the photography and podcast studios able to hire for a cost, and featuring state-of-the-art equipment.

Shopify is looking to help lift up local entrepreneurs with the new area, which is the second in the U.S., with a space in LA having been opened for two years.

Arpan Podduturi, Director of product, retail and messaging at Shopify, said the space is, “part community hub, part resource center and part a place to start for entrepreneurs.”
