Foot Locker opens largest store in Europe

Liverpool has welcomed the largest Foot Locker store in Europe, with 21,000 square feet of retail space combining premium product, in-store presentations and event space.

The two-storey shop is located in the Liverpool One shopping complex, where popular clothing brands including Cath Kidston, Reiss, Ted Baker, Topshop and Zara have also a presence.

The store interior is designed to inspire youth culture and build communities, based on Liverpool’s vibrant cultural scene. Foot Locker commissioned a bespoke piece of artwork by Liverpool artist Stephen Chan to illustrate its support of Liverpool creatives, putting the art piece at the front of the store.

Nick Jones, vice president and general manager of Foot Locker Europe said: “The new store is the ultimate destination for sneaker fans in Liverpool and a great platform for the city’s many creative talents. Liverpool has such an incredible cultural history and scene that it’s the perfect destination to lead the way for the future of Foot Locker stores. We look forward to continuing to collaborate locally and support the local scene and community.”

Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Grosvenor Europe, added: “The experience-led focus of the store is another great example of how Liverpool One is enriching the experience for visitors, providing them with an offer unavailable anywhere else.  The flagship opening strengthens our diverse mix of international brands, and cements our position as the strongest performing destinations in the UK.”

The shopping destination has also recently welcomed the launch of Cos’ regional flagship and will see Arket open its fifth UK store later this year.
