Landmark Group’s largest fashion retailer, Centrepoint, plans to open 18 new stores across locations in the GCC by June 2020, it has been announced.

The expansion will take the brand’s consolidated store count in the region to over 160.

The new developments include the recently opened store in Mall of Muscat, the first Centrepoint store in Oasis Mall Sharjah, and a new shop in Al Ahsa Mall, Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Currently, Centrepoint operates 144 stores across seven countries and the expansion is expected to increase the retail space to 6.7 million sq ft, making Centrepoint one of the largest fashion destinations in the region.

Landmark Group said the growth and expansion of the brand is part of its strategy to further bolster its foothold in the region.

Centrepoint is home to four of the its concepts – Babyshop, Splash, Lifestyle and Shoemart.

Simon Smith, chief operating officer, Centrepoint said: “We always put customers at the heart of what we do. The retail landscape has seen a tremendous change in the last few years with technology changing the way customers shop. Centrepoint is committed to serving customers in a changing retail environment, leveraging new technology.

“We’re constantly innovating to meet the aspirations of the new generation of shoppers, who are digitally savvy and seek innovative retail choices. Our stores of the future will combine features of both online and in-store shopping to offer a seamless and convenient shopping experience.”
