This year the F.I.R.A. mid-year meeting took place during the China International Retail Innovation Summit in Shanghai, China.

The summit, organized by CCFA – the official representative of retailing & franchise industry in China – and Shanghai Government, was focused on retail innovation, new technologies and digital transformation, and is a great opportunity to meet over 100 top China retailers and get an insight on China’s retail world. A world that is constantly changing: China is now the innovation laboratory of global retailers, with Shanghai being its center, and let’s not forget China’s huge consuming potential, which brings large business opportunity to the world.

Sustainability is one the big topics at the summit, with a session dedicated to “Promoting the Sustainable Development of the Global Retail”. Among the speakers, Massimo Volpe, G.R.A.’s Managing Director and F.I.R.A.E.’s Chairman, who will be accompanied by Chen Young – Fairbank Research Center of Harvard University, Christian Ewert – President of Amfori, David French – S.V.P. of N.R.F. and Gao Shulin, Chairman of C.C.F.A.

A Retail Tour of the most relevant and innovative stores in Shanghai, with a stop at Alibaba’s headquarter, will close the summit.
